One of the first things my late husband said to me when he learned of his terminal diagnosis 20 years ago was: ‘you will be supported by Police Legacy’. First, police welfare was involved. Then, soon after Frank passed, I had a phone call followed by a home visit from Laurie Snowball who outlined what would happen next. As I was working, the first event for me was the Leonda Christmas in 2002. I was picked up at Rosebud Police Station where my new friendship support group started. Since then I have attended regional lunches and getaways. I have formed many special long term friendships due to the support and innovation of the wonderful Victoria Police Legacy team
