Recently retired Superintendent Peter O’Neill is well known in Police Legacy circles for his quick wit, impressive dance moves and incredibly generous nature. He joined the board back in 2004 and served for more than 10 years before being appointed the first ever Police Legacy Ambassador. In 2016, he was awarded life membership in recognition of the difference he has made to the lives of so many legatees. Always a popular regular at regional lunches and getaways, Peter goes above and beyond to not only entertain the legatees but to also ensure they are well looked after. His selfless commitment to the police family and our legatees is well imprinted in his DNA. His daughter, Senior Sergeant Kate O’Neill, has been involved with Police Legacy for more than a decade and now sits on the board. Like her dad, she continues the O’Neill legacy of supporting and giving back to the Police Legacy family.
