Bryan Kelly

Bryan Kelly was Victoria Police Legacy’s first President. He joined Victoria Police in 1956 and spent time at St Kilda, Moorabbin and Moe before transferring to Springvale in 1962. A police veteran of 31 years, he believed in the financial welfare of police and was instrumental in the foundation of the Police Association Credit Co-Operative. In 1978, he began writing articles in the Police Association Journal to lobby support for the legacy of police, taking on the President’s role when Victoria Police Legacy was formed in February 1980. He served as President until 1985 and then served a second term from 1992 to 1994. He was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in 2018 for his dedication to the welfare of police families. He retired in 1987 but continued to work with Police Legacy. He passed away in 2018.
